Ben Garrett – President
Ben Garrett began his career at RA-LIN as a part time worker in the summer of 1984. After high school, he attended Auburn University on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship and earned a civil engineering degree. In August of 1991, he returned to RA-LIN as an assistant project manager and has held increasingly responsible positions in various departments of the company until his appointment as President in 2005. Ben is an accomplished leader with deep practical experience combined with outstanding engineering and construction management skills.
Bernie Buchanan – Executive Vice President
Bernie joined RA-LIN in 1997 with an array of construction achievements in varying markets to his credit. His past responsibilities have included oversight of Pre-Construction activities relating to operations, business development, scheduling, and estimating. He now manages Strategic Development for the company and implementation of standard operating procedures across company groups. He is also responsible for setting the overall direction of Quality Assurance/Control and ensuring consistency in its delivery to RA-LIN clients.
Tres Jernigan – Senior Vice President
Tres Jernigan, a professional engineer with over two decades of building experience, serves as senior vice president of RA-LIN. Tres guides and oversees all construction and development aspects of the company’s projects throughout the Southeast. Jernigan holds a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Engineering Honors Society and Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer by the National Society of Professional Engineering.
Brian Fritts – Vice President of Operations
Fritts, a veteran at RA-LIN for two decades, holds a B.S. degree in Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic State University. As Director of Operations, his resume and volume of work with RA-LIN stands well over a quarter of a billion dollars. The construction phasing and logistics planning required to safely execute projects of Brian’s experience, while students are present, is a proven skill of RA-LIN operations, and he executes these skills with expertise.
Curt Giebeig – Vice President of Estimating
Curt joined RA-LIN in 1994 as a Project Manager and over the years has served in several roles, including Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, and Director of Preconstruction Services for our K-12 Division. In his role as Vice President, Curt will serve as a member of the company’s executive leadership team while leading RA-LIN’s estimating department which provides estimating, constructability reviews and virtual design & construction models, as well as contribute to the company’s operations and business development efforts. Curt has a great ability to relate to our customers and build trust by providing thoughtful guidance during the pre-construction phase of a project. Curt will be counted on to provide leadership and guidance to those young associates.
Jay Grubbs – Vice President of Alabama Group
As an employee with RA-LIN for nearly 20 years, Jay Grubbs has served as in public and private construction. He became responsible for Alabama operations in our Oxford, Alabama office. As a native of Cleburne County, Alabama and holding a B.S. in Building Science from Auburn University and an M.B.A. from the University of West Georgia, Grubbs has successfully completed the Associated General Contractors Leaders Course and the Cleburne County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cleburne program. Jay and his wife Kellie reside in Heflin, Alabama with their three children.
Michael Heisey – Vice President of Construction
Michael’s responsibilities will include day-to-day leadership of our project management personnel, contract and subcontract review, budget review, and projecting the needs of our construction management staff. Over his 15 years with RA-LIN, Michael has been a leading voice in implementing changes and creating protocols that have improved the company’s operating processes and efficiencies.
Tonya Jackson – Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Tonya will continue to build relationships with potential clients and project partners while pursuing strategic project opportunities throughout the State of Georgia. Tonya has served as a strong leader at RA-LIN, a relentless ally for our clients and an inspirational colleague to our team members. Her people-first commitment has been a key contributor in building client relationships, winning new project awards and demonstrating operational excellence at RA-LIN.
Derek Smith – Vice President of Construction
Derek Smith is co-leader of RA-LIN’s Construction Group. Smith received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. Joining RA-LIN in 2004, he brought with him 14 years of extensive construction industry experience. His concentration focuses on new educational projects and strives to build on our considerable strengths in this market. Derek’s responsibility is to oversee, maintain and expand our construction endeavors.
Andrew Stewart – Vice President of Field Operations
Andrew began his career with RA-LIN as a co-op from Auburn University and has excelled in his career through dedication, hard work, commitment to our clients and exemplary leadership. With 20 years of construction industry experience, Andrew’s expertise in developing processes and leading field teams has helped us achieve efficiency across all our job sites particularly in respect to project problem solving, scheduling, and project delivery.
